About
Secondhand books at two dollars, Saturdays only. The Friends Book Shop is run by the Friends of the Ann Arbor District Library, a nonprofit that funds library programming, and every dollar taken at the register goes back to the library's Summer Game, events and other work. It holds around 10,000 curated secondhand books, most of them priced at two dollars, plus hundreds of DVDs and CDs, puzzles, games, cards and literary merchandise. The whole inventory turns over every four months, so the shop you walk into in March is not the one you walked into in November. That is the argument for going back.Read the hours twice. The shop opens Saturday 10am to 4pm and that is the entire trading week, six hours. It is also not at the downtown library. The address is 265 Parkland Plaza, off Jackson Road on the west side.
