Wedding Venues in Ann Arbor: Which Ones You Can Actually Go See

Washtenaw County’s best-known wedding venue closes in four weeks.

Zingerman’s Cornman Farms in Dexter closes on 31 October 2026, and it is no longer accepting new bookings. Its own site says so: “Closing October 31, 2026 & no longer accepting new bookings.” The closure was reported in March by WEMU and The Sun Times News, and the property went up for sale at $3.3 million in June, per Crain’s Detroit Business. Zingerman’s managing partners cited rising costs, operational complexity and a lasting post-pandemic shift toward smaller gatherings; revenue had fallen to about $1.4 million in 2025 from a peak near $2.7 million.

Here is why that matters to you today. Cornman Farms is still the first result on nearly every wedding directory covering this area, and its Google listing still reads OPERATIONAL, which is technically true and completely misleading. It is open. It just cannot host your wedding. If you are starting your search this month, the single most valuable thing anybody can tell you is to start it somewhere else.

That gap between what a venue’s profile says and what you can actually do is the whole subject of this guide.

A wedding venue’s hours are not when you can see it

Every other guide to this will give you capacity and a price range. Useful, but it skips the first real question, which is: can I drive over and look at the room?

We pulled the published hours for all 23 wedding-capable venues in this area that are listed on this site, on 3 October 2026, and then checked each venue’s own website for how it actually handles visits. The published hours turn out to mean four completely different things, and none of them means “come see the wedding space.”

Sorted by what the hours actually are:

  • No hours published at all. Six venues. The field is empty because there is nothing to walk into. Everything is by appointment.
  • A genuine tour window. Two venues, and only two, in the entire county.
  • Office hours. The grid is a booking coordinator’s desk, not a building you can enter.
  • Somebody else’s hours. The venue lives inside a restaurant, a hotel, a bar or a public garden, and the grid belongs to that business.

Read that back and the useful conclusion falls out: the venues with the most generous-looking hours are the ones you can least actually inspect, and the venue with the narrowest hours in the county is the one genuinely holding tours.

The only two walk-in tours in Washtenaw County

Weller’s Weddings, 555 W Michigan Ave, Saline. Google shows this venue closed Monday through Friday and open Saturday 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. That is not an error and it is not a restaurant grid. It is a two-hour weekly window, and it is the only Saturday in this county on which you can turn up at a wedding venue unannounced and be shown the room. Weller’s own site describes what happens next: “Once you have visited you may put a 7-day no obligation hold on a date.” The Carriage House seats 125 to 186 depending on layout, per the venue’s own capacity figures, and Weller’s provides servers and a banquet manager as part of its estimates, so plan on in-house food service.

Regular hours: Saturday 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM; closed Sunday through Friday. Verified 3 October 2026.

Cobblestone Farm, 2781 Packard Rd, Ann Arbor. This is the one where the published grid actively misleads you. Google lists Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, closed weekends. The city’s own page explains that those are staff hours: “Cobblestone Farm staff are in the office Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., available by phone and email.” The actual chance to see the barn is a drop-in tour on Tuesday evenings from 4 to 6 p.m., with dates published for 6 and 13 October and 10, 17 and 24 November. Note what that means: the only time you can walk in falls outside every hour the venue publishes.

Two more things about Cobblestone, both of which change your planning. The three-storey oak timber frame barn holds a maximum of 190 guests, per the city. And the city’s page carries this: “Cobblestone Farm will be closed beginning mid-December 2026 – mid-March 2027 for construction.” If you are touring this winter, you cannot tour this one.

Regular hours: office Monday to Friday 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, closed weekends; drop-in tours Tuesdays 4:00 to 6:00 PM on published dates. Closed mid-December 2026 to mid-March 2027. Verified 3 October 2026.

The six that publish no hours at all

An empty hours field on a wedding venue is information, not an omission. It means the venue has no public-access concept whatsoever, and your only route in is a scheduled appointment. All six of these are confirmed OPERATIONAL on Google as of 3 October 2026.

Robin Hills Farm, 20390 M-52, Chelsea. Three distinct spaces, which is unusual here: the Pasture Barn seats up to 250 under tent between 1 April and 1 November and more than 300 if you use the barn as well, the Glasshouse seats 150 and expands to 250 with a tent, and the Nest seats 150 or 200 including its patio. All figures are the venue’s own. Tours go through a “Book a Tour” request; the farm answers on 734-472-2192. The 1 April to 1 November tent window is the real constraint, so a winter wedding here is a different and smaller event than the photographs suggest.

Regular hours: none published; tours by request. Tented Pasture Barn season 1 April to 1 November. Verified 3 October 2026.

Ypsilanti Freighthouse, 100 Market Pl, Ypsilanti. A city-owned 1878 rail freight house in Depot Town, and the best-reviewed event building in the county at 4.7 across 355 ratings. The city publishes the useful numbers: “The building has a 200 seated capacity, festival and market style events have a slightly larger capacity,” and “Your rental includes tables, chairs, and an on-site attendant.” Catering, linens and entertainment are yours to arrange. Bookings run through the city’s event request system; the contact is the city’s Events and Facilities Supervisor on 734-482-9825. There are no public hours, but the Freighthouse hosts public markets and events through the year, which is a free way to stand inside it before you commit.

Regular hours: none published; rental by city event request. Verified 3 October 2026.

Jack Roth Stadium Club, 1201 S Main St, Ann Arbor. The club level inside Michigan Stadium, run through University of Michigan athletics facility rentals, and rated 4.8. No hours, no walk-ins, and an obvious constraint nobody prints: this building sits inside a stadium with eight home football Saturdays in the 2026 season, so autumn dates compete with the football calendar rather than with other weddings.

Regular hours: none published; rental through U-M athletics facility rentals. Verified 3 October 2026.

The Valley at Frutig Farms, 7650 Scio Church Rd, Ann Arbor. A restored wedding barn with outdoor ceremony space, rated 4.8 across 184 ratings, about ten minutes west of town. Google does show a grid here, but it is incoherent as venue access – it lists Sunday 9:00 to 10:00 AM, a one-hour Sunday that matches nothing on the farm’s own site. Treat this as appointment-only: the farm runs a “Request a Tour” form, and lists Ed Frutig on 313-657-6882 and Kaitlin Rutkowski on 231-944-3108.

Regular hours: a Google grid exists but does not match the venue’s own access information; tours by request. Verified 3 October 2026.

Eagle Crest Resort and the Ann Arbor Marriott Ypsilanti at Eagle Crest, both at 1275 S Huron St, Ypsilanti. Same address, two listings, one property on Ford Lake. Neither publishes hours, which for a hotel means the events office rather than the front desk. The Marriott carries 1,723 ratings at 4.2, the resort listing 298 at 4.4. This is the local option where the guest block, the ceremony and the reception sit on one site, which matters most if a large share of your guests are flying in.

Regular hours: none published for either listing; events booked through the hotel sales office. Verified 3 October 2026.

The ones whose hours are a desk

Ann Arbor City Club, 1830 Washtenaw Ave. Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, closed weekends – a booking office, not an open building. The thing to know here is not the hours but the gate: the City Club is a member-owned nonprofit, and the route in for a couple who are not members is a special event membership arranged through the club’s events manager. Anyone may join and Ann Arbor residency is not required. Directory listings put the Molly Dobson – Ann Edwards Ballroom at about 160 at round tables and rental in the $1,100 to $3,000 range with a refundable deposit; the club itself publishes neither, so confirm both on the phone at 734-662-3279.

Regular hours: Monday to Friday 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, closed Saturday and Sunday. Verified 3 October 2026.

Little Lake Event Center, 179 Little Lake Dr, Ann Arbor. Monday to Friday 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, closed weekends. A small, plain, west-side room run by a local nonprofit, and the hours are straightforwardly the office’s. Worth a call for a rehearsal dinner or a small reception rather than a 200-guest wedding.

Regular hours: Monday to Friday 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, closed Saturday and Sunday. Verified 3 October 2026.

Riverside Arts Center, 76 N Huron St, Ypsilanti. This one is the clearest case in the guide of two true grids describing different things. Google shows Friday 4:00 to 6:00 PM and Saturday 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, which are the gallery’s public opening hours. The center’s own site says something else entirely: “Open Monday through Friday 9am – 5pm by appointment.” Both are correct. The five hours at the weekend are when you can walk in and look at the North Gallery as a member of the public; the weekday hours are when a human will talk to you about renting it.

It publishes its room capacities, which few venues here do: the theater holds 153, the North Gallery 150, the top floor main room 50, and the dance studio and ground-level Off Center 49 each. Rates sit in a 2026 rental document rather than on the page. Tours of the theater and the gallery go to different staff addresses, so say which room you mean when you write.

Regular hours: gallery Friday 4:00 to 6:00 PM and Saturday 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM; rental office Monday to Friday 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM by appointment. Verified 3 October 2026.

The one that publishes its price

Pittsfield Union Grange, 3337 Ann Arbor-Saline Rd, Ann Arbor. A 19th-century grange hall, and the only venue in this entire guide that puts its rate on its own website in plain numbers: “Friday, Saturday, Sunday rent is $500. Monday – Thursday rent is $400,” with a $500 refundable deposit. That gets “the whole building: upstairs dance floor with stage, downstairs dining area, complete kitchen, parking area,” and roughly 100 chairs with 6-foot and 8-foot tables. Capacity is “80 for a sit-down dinner, or for dancing upstairs. 125 for a concert.”

The policies are unusually frank and worth reading before you fall in love with the price. On food: “You may use our kitchen to prepare it, or have a potluck, or have a caterer bring in food. We do not have a licensed kitchen, so you may not prepare food for sale.” On drink: “We do not allow drinking at open events. However, we may make exceptions for wine and beer for weddings, receptions, and private events” – so confirm your bar in writing, early.

And the Grange solves the touring problem better than anyone. It publishes no hours, but it says plainly, “We would be pleased to meet you at the Grange hall if you would like to check it out for your event,” on grange.hall@umich.edu or 734-274-0773. It also runs genuine public events you can simply attend, including a contra dance on 17 October and a family folk dance on 14 November. Going to a dance is the most honest venue tour on this list: you will see the floor in use, full of people, with the sound system running.

Regular hours: none published; viewings arranged directly and public dances held through the season. Verified 3 October 2026.

The ones you can go look at today, for free

If you want to spend an afternoon this week standing in places you might get married, these are the ones that will let you.

Matthaei Botanical Gardens, 1800 N Dixboro Rd. Weddings book in the conservatory and in the outdoor gardens, and the grounds are open to anyone: the gardens run 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM, until 8:00 PM on Wednesdays, with free admission and metered parking. One correction worth having, because it will otherwise cost you a wasted Monday: Google’s grid shows Matthaei closed Mondays, but the gardens’ own site is specific that it is the Conservatory that closes Mondays. The outdoor gardens and trails are a different proposition from the glasshouse, so if the conservatory is the room you care about, do not go on a Monday.

Regular hours: gardens daily 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Wednesdays to 8:00 PM; Conservatory closed Mondays; free admission. Verified 3 October 2026.

Its sibling, Nichols Arboretum at 1610 Washington Hts, is open sunrise to sunset with free admission, and the Peony Garden there is one of the most photographed ceremony backdrops in the state in late spring.

Michigan League, 911 N University Ave. The building is open 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM on weekdays, to midnight Friday and Saturday, and 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM Sunday, so you can walk in and look at the public rooms any day of the week. The League Ballroom is the draw; wedding directories list it at up to 500 seated across 5,238 square feet, with full-wedding pricing from about $3,000 off-peak and $5,000 peak. Those figures come from directories rather than the university, so confirm them with U-M event services. Walking into the building is free; seeing the ballroom when it is not set up for something else is a matter of luck or an appointment.

Regular hours: Monday to Thursday 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM, Friday and Saturday 7:00 AM to 12:00 AM, Sunday 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Verified 3 October 2026.

Palmer Commons, 100 Washtenaw Ave. A glass-fronted university building on the medical campus with a sixth-floor room and a view, open 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM on weekdays and 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM at weekends. Modern rather than historic, and the most likely of the university rooms to be free on a summer Saturday.

Regular hours: Monday to Friday 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM, Saturday and Sunday 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Verified 3 October 2026.

Venues that are really a restaurant, a bar or a hotel

These are good options, particularly for a rehearsal dinner or a wedding under 100 guests, and their hours are genuinely useful – just understand that the grid is the business’s trading hours, and a closed day is a day nobody will answer your questions either.

Gandy Dancer, 401 Depot St. The 1886 Michigan Central depot, stone-built and listed, and the most architecturally serious dining room in the city. Open 11:30 AM to 9:30 PM most days, to 10:00 PM Friday and Saturday, 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM Sunday, with 3,483 ratings at 4.5. Private rooms rather than a ballroom, and you can eat lunch there tomorrow to see it.

Regular hours: Monday to Thursday 11:30 AM to 9:30 PM, Friday and Saturday 11:30 AM to 10:00 PM, Sunday 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Verified 3 October 2026.

Vinology Restaurant and Event Space, 110 S Main St. Downtown, on Main, with a dedicated event space upstairs, 4.5 across 1,079 ratings, and confirmed trading. Note the grid: it opens at 4:00 PM and is closed all day Sunday, which rules out a Sunday brunch reception and means a Sunday enquiry waits until Monday.

Regular hours: Monday to Thursday 4:00 to 10:00 PM, Friday and Saturday 4:00 to 11:00 PM, closed Sunday. Verified 3 October 2026.

Venue by 4M, 1919 S Industrial Hwy. Worth a correction: this one turns up in listings as an Ypsilanti venue and it is not – it is on South Industrial in Ann Arbor. Open 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM Tuesday to Friday, 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM Saturday, 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM Sunday, and closed Monday.

Regular hours: Tuesday to Friday 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM, Saturday 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM, Sunday 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, closed Monday. Verified 3 October 2026.

Zal Gaz Grotto Club, 2070 W Stadium Blvd. A fraternal club with a hall, a bar and a price point well below the country clubs, rated 4.7. Open from 4:00 PM most days, to about midnight Friday and Saturday, 5:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday, and closed Wednesday.

Regular hours: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 4:00 to 11:00 PM, Friday and Saturday 4:00 PM to midnight, Sunday 5:00 to 8:00 PM, closed Wednesday. Verified 3 October 2026.

Stone Chalet Bed and Breakfast Inn and Event Center, 1917 Washtenaw Ave. The highest review count of any venue here at 519 ratings and a 4.8, and the natural pick for a small wedding where the party stays on site: twelve themed rooms across three buildings, lodging up to 30 guests, and a 100-person limit on private events, all per the inn. Spaces include the Brigham Ballroom, Fellowship Hall, the Stone Courtyard and the Gazebo Gardens. Visits are a scheduled consultation rather than a drop-in, on 866-382-6542. The 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM daily grid is the inn’s reception desk.

Regular hours: daily 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, which is the inn reception rather than event-space access. Verified 3 October 2026.

The Kensington Hotel, 3500 S State St. Open 24 hours, because it is a hotel front desk, with 1,543 ratings at 4.3. A conventional hotel ballroom option on the south side near Briarwood, convenient for guests arriving off I-94.

Regular hours: front desk open 24 hours daily; events through the sales office. Verified 3 October 2026.

The country clubs

Both of these take non-member weddings, both have a ballroom and a golf course view, and both have a closed day you would not guess.

The Polo Fields Golf and Country Club, 5200 Polo Fields Dr. Open 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM Tuesday through Sunday and closed all day Monday. The Grand Ballroom is listed by wedding directories at up to 200 guests across about 3,800 square feet with a built-in dance floor, with pricing quoted from around $8,450 for 200 guests. Catering comes from the club’s own kitchen. Rated 4.6 across 245 ratings.

Regular hours: Tuesday to Sunday 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM, closed Monday. Verified 3 October 2026.

Travis Pointe Country Club, 2829 Travis Pointe Rd. The longest hours of any venue here, 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM Monday through Saturday, but note Sunday closes at 6:00 PM, which is early for a Sunday reception. Rated 4.6 across 188 ratings.

Regular hours: Monday to Saturday 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Sunday 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Verified 3 October 2026.

Barton Hills Country Club on Country Club Road comes up in searches and is genuinely one of the handsomest settings in the county, but it is a private member club and we could not establish a non-member wedding route, so we have left it off the list rather than send you on a call that ends in no.

How to actually use one Saturday

Given everything above, here is the only efficient venue Saturday available in this county, and it is worth planning around rather than improvising.

Start in Saline at 11:00 AM at Weller’s, because that two-hour window is the one unmissable fixed point in the week. Drive back toward town and spend the early afternoon at Matthaei on Dixboro, which is free, open until 4:30 PM and will tell you in twenty minutes whether an outdoor ceremony is what you want. Finish in the Arb if the weather holds, or walk into the Michigan League and look at the public rooms. That is one tour of an actual event space and two honest looks at ceremony settings, in a day, for the price of parking.

Everything else on this list needs a phone call first, and most of those calls land on a weekday desk. The Cobblestone drop-in is a Tuesday evening, so it will not fit the Saturday at all – block the 4 to 6 PM slot on 13 October or one of the November dates separately, and do it before mid-December, because the barn then shuts until March.

What we could not pin down

Honest limits, because a wrong number here costs you real money.

Capacity and price are the two things couples most want and the two things these venues least often publish themselves. Where a figure came from the venue, we have said so. Where it came from a wedding directory – the City Club ballroom at 160, the Michigan League Ballroom at 500 and its $3,000 to $5,000 range, Polo Fields at 200 and $8,450 – we have flagged it, because those are frequently out of date and are not what the venue will quote you.

Catering rules are the other gap. Weller’s, Polo Fields, Travis Pointe and the hotels operate their own kitchens, the Grange explicitly lets you bring food in, and the Freighthouse gives you an empty building with tables and chairs. For the university rooms and most of the rest, we could not confirm from a first-party source whether outside caterers are permitted, so ask that question on the first call rather than the fourth.

Finally, hours move. We verified every grid above on 3 October 2026, and two of them are seasonal rather than permanent: Cobblestone’s winter construction closure and Robin Hills’ April-to-November tent window. Call the day before you drive anywhere.
