About
Volunteer-run charity thrift in downtown Ypsilanti. The Ypsilanti Thrift Shop at 14 S Washington St is the old model done properly: a volunteer-staffed charity shop whose takings go back into the community, with clothing, housewares, books and bric-a-brac priced the way charity shops used to price things before resale apps taught everyone what a vintage label is worth. Rated 4.5 from 62 reviews. It is a short walk from Michigan Avenue in downtown Ypsilanti, which means you can reach it, Black Stone Bookstore and the Depot Town shops in one loop without moving the car twice. The hours are the oddity and worth copying down. It opens at 10am Tuesday through Thursday but not until 1pm on Monday and Friday, and it closes at 4pm on all five weekdays. Saturday is the long day at 11am to 5pm. Closed Sunday. Nothing else in the county shuts this early.
