About
Six hand brew methods. Also the candy counter's door.Zingerman's Coffee Company roasts and pours at 3723 Plaza Drive, Ann Arbor, in the Zingerman's cluster off Plaza Drive south of town. It is a wholesale roaster first, supplying cafes and restaurants, and the cafe at the front is where the same single estate, small batch coffees are served to anyone who walks in. Open 7am to 4pm, every day of the week. Their own site says so in three places and publishes no day-by-day grid, so Saturday and Sunday read the same as Tuesday. The coffee bar line is (734) 929-6060.The hand brew list is the reason to stand at this counter rather than a faster one. Pour Over, Clever, Chemex, Aeropress and Press Pot are $5.00 each and the Syphon Pot is $6.00, each one brewed to order from the coffee you pick. Prices read from their own cafe menu on 1 November 2026, where brewed coffee starts at $2.50 short and $3.25 tall, a short latte is $4.00 and a short cold brew is $3.25. Some coffees come and go with the season, which the menu says plainly.Managing Partner Steve Mangigian built what the cafe calls the Big Brew Board, a grid that hangs in the room and maps each bean and blend against each of the six brew methods. It is there so you can see, before ordering, that a Chemex and a press pot do different things to the same Brazilian peaberry. Baristas will talk you through it. Monthly cuppings and coffee classes run in the classroom off the cafe.Green beans are bought direct from growers and roasted in small batches behind the cafe window, so the roast is visible from a table rather than described on a sign. Coffee Company staff travel to growers through the year to pick crops. There is also a roaster cam on their website for the days you are not in the room. The food is a toast bar, available all day and every day, built out of the Zingerman's Community of Businesses: bread from Zingerman's Bakehouse, cream cheese and goat cheese and pimento cheese from Zingerman's Creamery, spices from Epices de Cru, olive oil from California Olive Ranch. Seven toasts, $8.99 to $10.49 on the 1 November 2026 menu. Alongside them, pastries from the Bakehouse, roasted nuts, fresh fruit and candy bars. This is also the door you walk through to reach the Zingerman's Candy Manufactory counter, which is inside this building and keeps the same 7am to 4pm hours. Zingerman's Bakehouse is a ninety-second walk away at 3711 Plaza Dr and stays open until 7pm, so if you arrive at four and find both the coffee bar and the candy counter shut, there is still one Zingerman's door open on the block.Their own page calls the cafe a third place and the practical details hold that up: free parking, indoor and outdoor seating, and power ports through the room. The one condition they state is that you share your table with other customers if you plan to stay a while, which is a fair price for a long seat and a power socket. One address note, the same one the candy store carries. Zingerman's publishes two different suite numbers for this building. The Zingerman's Community of Businesses register gives Suite 5 for Zingerman's Coffee; the candy store's own page says Suite 3. zingermanscoffee.com publishes no suite at all, on any page. We have published the street address without a suite, because it is one building and one door. The office and wholesale line is 877-653-5282.
